"The Lucky Stack" / "My
God Wears Sleeves"
artwork by Tim Biskup and Sinc
November 23rd – January 4th
Reception Saturday November 23rd 7:30pm – 12am
“The Lucky Stack” features 55 original paintings from California’s
Tim Biskup. The paintings represent each card in a standard poker deck
including two jokers and the cover art for the deck. This show also
marks the release of the printed “Lucky Stack” card sets
which will also be available at the art opening. Recently Tim has been
working on collaborative paintings with modern masters Gary Baseman
and Mark Ryden. “My God Wears Sleeves” is a new series of
paintings from Boston’s Scott Sinclair better known as “Sinc”.
Scott has been a successful commercial illustrator for many years and
has recently been moving into the fine art world. His current body of
work deals with self-confrontation through compositions inspired by
vintage tattoo flash.
Tim Biskup
Southern California artist Tim Biskup is probably painting while you're
reading this. If not, he's designing a tee shirt, fabric pattern, book
or a toy. Tim grew up on a blend of Disneyland, "Big Daddy"
Roth, classic cartoons & Godzilla movies. Pepper that with the anarchy
of punk rock, the weirdness of the Residents and the beauty of 50's
and 60's modern design. These influences, as well as his years of experience
in animation have pushed him towards his manic, spontaneous style. He's
got upcoming art shows in LA, Philadelphia, Dallas, Tokyo, Kyoto and
Portland... and that's in the next six months! In the meantime, he's
constantly releasing new goods in his Gama-Go clothing & gift line.
He's designed and published a deck of playing cards called "The
Lucky Stack". He's working on toy designs for production in the
US and Japan. He's working with House Industries to produce a set of
computer fonts and he's about to finish his "100 Paintings"
series. He's also auctioneer and founder of the Burning Brush Art Auctions.
If that's not enough, he and his wife (fellow artist Seonna Hong) have
just produced their first human being, a little girl named Tigerlily
Mina Biskup.
Scott Sinclair
Hailing originally from the Sunshine State, Scott Sinclair received
a BFA in Illustration from the Ringling School of Art and Design in
1996. Scott’s art has graced the pages of numerous magazines from
Playboy to the Progressive as well as the album covers of many bands
(such as Florida’s own Hot Water Music. In his work as a web designer,
he has lent his unique style to the digital face of such companies as
Unicef, Bravo, and the Independent Film Channel. SINC now lives in Boston,
MA working as a freelance illustrator and multimedia designer. His many
side projects include an indie record label, SincAudio (Pilot to Gunner,
The Also Rans, and The Model Sons), an online documentary magazine,

paintings will be featured at Forbidden Gallery in Dallas TX. This series
deals with self-confrontation through compositions inspired by vintage
tattoo flash.
