Hi,
I thought I'd update you on last nights BBC transmission of El Topo:
El Topo was cut by just over 30 seconds on BBC2 Friday night. It did
however include the original opening and closing credit sequences.
Cuts:
at 13m -28s - various shots of 3rd bandit being shot (4 shots)
at 55m -6s - Woman being whipped (2 shots)
at -7s - Bloody shirt being ripped from her back
The BBC version includes scenes which were optically fogged from the
Japanese lasersic release. I feel it was a shame the BBC could only get
hold of a Spanish dubbed print, as it was clearly filmed in English,
even if Jodorowsky's own voice was later re-dubbed.
One worth keeping.
It was introduced by Professor Christopher Frayling, who mentioned your Web Site!
